Appraisals & Evaluations:
The old rules of appraising and evaluating didn't take into account major fluctuations
of the economy and cash available to purchase non-essential items. A number of buyers
have temporarily retracted from the "buying" mode, but never fear, antiques are here to stay.
Be careful when reading price guides, as most are out of touch with reality. I don't want to get
too philosophical, but as the economy comes back and people have more money to spend on
non-essential items, other than mortgages, loans, food, clothes, etc. etc., antiques and collectibles
will once again become popular and increase in value. The cycle will eventually turn around.
